Meet the Historian
Colette Lefebvre Davis: Public Historian • Writer • Educator • Historical Storyteller
Proven Expertise
History is more than a collection of dates and names. It is the story of people—how they lived, what they believed, what they feared, and what they left behind.
Comprehensive Solutions
I am a public historian, writer, and educator with a passion for bringing the past to life through research, storytelling, and meaningful historical experiences.
My professional journey has taken me from the historic landscapes of the National Park Service to museum interpretation, educational programming, historical writing, and independent research.
As a former National Park Service ranger at Fort Scott National Historic Site in Kansas, I helped visitors connect with American history through interpretation, public programs, and the stories of people whose lives shaped the nation.
With graduate training in public history and a background in journalism and education, I approach every project with curiosity, careful research, and a belief that history should be both accurate and compelling
A Different Way of Experiencing History
Through Historical Persuasions, I offer historical research, writing, interpretation, and educational consulting for individuals, organizations, museums, and creative professionals.
Through The Storyteller Traveler, I create educational publications, historical investigations, and resources that invite readers to explore the past.
And through Dark History Society, I venture into the forgotten, unsettling, and extraordinary stories that reveal how people understood their world.
Whether I am researching a historical mystery, developing a museum program, teaching a student, or uncovering an unusual tradition, my purpose remains the same:
To make the past feel human, meaningful, and impossible to forget.
